The Perfect Avocado Toast

Avocado toasts have become super popular lately and no wonder why. They make a delicious, filling, healthy, easy-to-make breakfast.

I think I’ll never get over the fact that I didn’t use to like avocados, to be honest I hated them (and yes, hate is a very strong word). It wasn’t until I was living in Chicago back in 2012 that I decided to give guacamole a second chance. Oh, what have I been missing all these years!

It’s funny how our taste buds change over the years. Olives used to be my enemies too and now I love them! Conclusion, if there’s something you didn’t like while growing up, give it a second chance!

Anyways, since I jumped on the avocado wagon I eat it almost every day. This combination makes the perfect mix so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Ingredients 

  • 2 slices of your bread of choice (lately I’ve been enjoying Food For Life’s gluten free brown or black rice bread)
  • ½ avocado
  • Juice of ½ lime
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp. sea salt
  • 2 tbsp. hemp seeds

Directions

  • Toast the bread.
  • In a small bowl add the avocado, lime juice, pepper, salt, 1 tbsp. hemp seeds and smash with a fork until the mix has a creamy texture.
  • Serve over toasts and sprinkle with the remaining hemp seeds.
