Nuts are a great snack option. They are packed with healthy fats and there’s such a big variety of them that there’s a type for every taste. I usually get them unsalted and raw from the bulk section of the grocery store because most of the pre-packaged ones come with tons of added oils, salt and preservatives that aren’t necessary.
Think about it, nuts are mainly fat so why add more oil? I know that eating them unsalted and raw all the time can get a bit boring so let's spice it up!
In this recipe I enjoy using almonds but feel free to experiment with other nuts like cashews or walnuts (and if you do let me know!)
Serves: 4 Prep Time: 10 min. Cooking time: 20 min. Total: 30 min.
- 2 cups of raw almonds
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- 2 tbsp. chopped rosemary
- ½ tsp. sea salt
- ¼ tsp. chili powder
- ¼ tsp. red pepper
- Pre-heat the oven to 325F.
- In the meantime combine all the ingredients in a bowl.
- Spread the nuts on a baking sheet and cook for 20 min.
- Once they are golden take them out and let them cool completely before eating.
