Lehigh Valley, PA

A month ago I visited the Lehigh Valley to run their marathon. Even though I didn’t perform as good as I wanted to in the race, I had a good time exploring this area of Pennsylvania.

The Lehigh Valley is formed by the towns of Easton, Bethlehem and Allentown.

First I was going to stay at one of the hotels that the race recommended but they were all booked, so by doing some online research I found The Lafayette Inn in Easton.

This place used to be a family home, then a fraternity house of Lafayette College and now it’s a Bed & Breakfast in the heart of the college.

The place is super cute and clean, the innkeepers very friendly and they offer a full delicious breakfast with plenty vegetarian options. I was happy to see that they have Easton’s first and only electric vehicle charging station... What a great green initiative!

There’re a couple of museums in the area that I didn’t get the chance to visit but I totally recommend you going to the Farmer’s Market on Saturdays and to SteelStacks, the old Bethlehem Steel plant. This place is now a concert and arts venue so if you find yourself in the area definitely check out their schedule.

Here’s a list of my favorite vegan-friendly restaurants I found in Lehigh Valley:

  • Stations Café: a health restaurant with a homey feeling. They have vegan sandwiches, burgers and soups.
  • Vegan Treats: you must visit this place! It’s the most incredible vegan bakery I’ve ever been to! They have everything from cakes to cupcakes to cookies to sticky buns… you name it!
  • Jenny’s Kuali: a yummy malasyan restaurant with abundant veggie options,

  • Greenmouth Juice Bar + Cafe: everything you can expect from a great vegan café. Delicious coffee with homemade nut milks, cold-pressed juices, acai bowls and salads.
  • Black & Blue: a bar + restaurant that surprisingly served vegan nachos, vegan pizza and vegan lasagna… yummy!
